Jamal Musiala has posted his first message on social media since fracturing his fibula in Bayern Munich’s FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final encounter with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 22-year-old is set for an extended period out of action after an incident involving PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma late in the first half saw Jamal Musiala suffer a fractured lower leg as a result of a broken and dislocated ankle.
Posting on his Instagram account, the Bayern forward said: “Thank you for the lovely support I got from all of you. It really means a lot to me. It’s nice to see how the football world comes together in a time like this. I really appreciate it.
“Surgery went really well. I’m in good care. I wanted to say there’s no one to blame for this. Situations like this happen. Now I’m just going to use the next period of time to build up my strength and positivity.”
It will be several months before Musiala returns to action for the Bundesliga champions, leaving head coach Vincent Kompany with a sizeable gap to try and fill at the heart of his attack.
